A TASSCO fitter assembles parts from steel plate and structural steel in a manner to maximize production and welding efficiency.
Education:
Vocational school training or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fabrication Shop Skills:
Language Skills:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Work with basic & geometrical mathematical concepts and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Crane Operator Training, Forklift Training, Safety Training
Skills:
Calculate basic math problems, calculate tonnage, and correct die openings for different metals, demonstrate use of cranes, rigging, and handling equipment, understand metal press forming concepts, read prints and drawings, demonstrates fabrication of jigs and templates, know and meet all forming tolerances, demonstrates all forming, flattening and straightening skills, completes shop paperwork.
Job Functions:
Press Brake: Check size of plate and thickness to include forming stock length, check drawings to determine bends & verify correctness of dimensions, layout and mark material for pressing, rig & place stock in press, check formed radius of stock by using templates, chords, and layout lines, make fine adjustments on press brake until stock is formed to specifications, check for straightness on metal edges, flatten if required, maintain identification of formed stock piece.
Perform preventative maintenance on the Press Brake and Plate Roll equipment.
